One year there was a nest of them in the front yard. One day I commented on how silly they looked crammed together in the nest they had overgrown. The next day they were gone. I think they prefer stable feeders, and mine move around in the wind. I'd love to have grosbeaks, too, but I don't have their favorite food out (black-oil sunflower seeds) on a platflorm, which, I think, is their preferred style of feeder. Although I loved american goldfinches, I hated their dusty, larger counterparts- grosbeaks.
